Homegoing.
Well, Brookwood lost Homecoming to Royal. Again. I think the last time we won our homecoming game, I was in elementary school. (And I don't think I've ever attended a winning Brookwood game. I'm a jinx. Seriously. I spent a portion of the game on the Royal side of the field--mingling with the enemy--and we were winning. Then I was dragged (quite literally) away from my new enemy friends back over to the Brookwood side, and we lost.) Do you know that we've never beaten Royal? Another interesting fact--Royal sucks. Last year they'd gone the entire season without a win. But, guess who they beat? Yup. Us.
Enough 'o that. Saturday, I was supposed to hand out papers in the Oktoberfest parade (nothing thrilling, but it's fun nonetheless) and then go to the Homecoming Dance. I had threats on my life if I didn't go. o_O But I woke up and I could barely breathe. I stumbled downstairs and got to the nebulizer as soon as I could.
Say, on a scale of one to ten, ten is a deep, normal breath. Yeah, I was breathing about a 2. Maybe a 1. So I got a treatment of that, and overdosed quite a bit on my regular inhaler (not that anyone actually follows the directions of how long you're supposed to wait between hits). Either way, there was no way I was going on a three mile hike with a bag 'o newspapers over my shoulder. (Sorry Cassie!) I still felt like crap by the end of the day, so I had to cancel on Homecoming too. Luckily, I was informed that the death threats were cancelled due to my annoying illness. =)
Fortunately, I woke up this morning with lungs that actually worked, to a certain degree. So I went to CranFest--yes, a festival of cranberries--it's hard to explain if you don't live in the area. (Keep in mind we're the same county that has Black Squirrel and Wood Turtle Days...) So, by tomorrow, I should be healthy enough.
I don't really watch TV a lot anymore--there isn't a whole lot worth watching these days. But ever once in a while, a show sucks me in, whether I want it to or not. The O.C. managed it last year. (Yes, it's a drama. Shut up. Beneath all of the sickening fashion crap the media is always covering about the show, there really is some greatness. Oh, shut up. ^^;; ) I think it's happening again. I almost never watch UPN, but today, I felt like seeing if there was anything on that could hold my attention better than Extreme Home Makeover. (Ok, it's not a bad show. But I didn't feel like watching the full 2 hours of it tonight.) So I spun the dial--yes, dial, my TV is ancient, and I love it--around to C--that's channel 23, UPN, exclusive to my bedroom, as it doesn't come in downstairs. And a weird show was on that caught my attention. So I watched it. It's called
Veronica Mars and it's...well...odd.
I like odd things.
Between this and The O.C., I might just have to buy a damn VCR to record these things. I always work when they air.
