On Video Games.

It's been a long time since I bought a game. For Gamecube or computer. The last game I bought was, I believe, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and that was a long while ago. (Not that I've had money, but not the point.) That may change, sooner or later. A few games have been grabbing my attention as of late and I've found myself wanting to start scanning eBay for them, even though half of them haven't been released yet...

Beyond Good and Evil
This is an old game. It retails for only $20, and is considered by many the most overlooked game of pretty much ever. A government conspiracy? A photographer, with help from friends, taking the side of good against all odds? A talking pig like creature? There's a lot to love. I've got to actually get this game one of these days. Damn Wal-Mart doesn't carry it, but then, why would they? They're only interested in games that retail for big bucks. Or that are based off movies and have no real value. I swear, if I see another Disney game in that aisle...

Halo 2
Ok, not too long ago, there was X-Box. And in my mind, it was a silly console. Microsoft had no business entering the gaming world.
And then, there was Halo.
If Bill Gates really was Satan, as many claim him to be, then Halo would have been what brought me to the dark side. I still suck at it today, but it alone sucked me into X-Box. Seriously, I'm considering getting one only for Halo 2. I'm thinking of eBay again...

Resident Evil 4
If that last game brought up any question of my remaining Nintendo loyalty, this should set it straight. Resident Evil, without the fixed camera, weird controls, and really long door opening loading screens. Resident Evil without the same three zombies in every other room. Resident Evil without typewriters? This game looks flat-out awesome. I look forward to playing it late at night and jumping at every little sound afterwards. =)

Advent Rising
Ok, I haven't heard anything about this in a long time. It was originally slated to be released in Spring of 2004, but that obviously didn't happen. I guess it was held back a year, to work out the kinks, but it gives me that much more time to get an X-Box--it's also going to be for PC, but I'm thinking my laptop won't have the power (not to mention HD space) for it. I'm trying to soothe the doubts in my mind by reminding myself that a large part of the game is being done by Orson Scott Card, author of many a fantastic science fiction book. He better know what he's getting into. *glare*

I should probably get around to beating The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I've had them who knows how long, and never really played long enough to beat them. =/ Only Star Fox has managed to hold my attention long enough to beat it, because it only takes about an hour. Not to mention GTA3, In Memoriam (which has recently been released in America as "Missing: Since January" but I have the cooler imported version), Diablo (yes, Diablo...), Syberia, and Crimson Skies.

Honestly, I don't know why I want to buy new games, because I know I'll forget about them and never beat them.

But I waaaaant them. ;-;
