No Matter What Comes Next, We'll Be Okay
I'm so very behind on this blog.
Cliff notes!
The weekend before last, I went on a spontaneous trip home that led to me getting back together with Melissa. Bad reason to drive 200 miles? Possibly. Worth it? Definitely.
And last weekend--we're skipping the week and taking it for granted that nothing thrilling happened--was the improv show I was in, Forms of 42. It was so much fun. Improv is unlike any type of show I've been in before. Friday night we had a relatively small crowd--60 people, I'd guess, out of 100 chairs--but the show was so much fun. So great, in fact, that a lot of those people told me they were coming back the next night. And they weren't kidding. Saturday night we had a full house, and then some. I'd guess at least 120 people--and remember, seating for 100. It was unbelievable for a Studio show. "Studio" for everyone off-Knox (which, I believe, is every single person that ever reads this) is a small, 'back' stage--it's where the little, less important shows go on. Afterwards, I had a bunch of people I didn't know telling me how halarious we were and even an alumn. It was Homecoming Weekend, so a bunch of alumni were back. One guy, dressed up all importantly, suit-and-tie type, gave me a funny look when I walked by, then he turned and chased me down and asked me if I was in the improv show and proceeded to tell me how great I was. =) It's always nice getting a completely random ego boost--particularly when they really mean it.
For FP this week, we've had a surprisingly good bunch of reading. Well, the Plato stuff wasn't fantastic--but Feynman (What Do You Care What Other People Think?) and another author I can't remember the name of (Cloister Walk) were surprisingly good, the type one might genuinely enjoy if they knew they wouldn't eventually be writing a paper on it. It's interesting stuff, particularly the Cloister Walk, which deals a lot with communal living in a monastary and how it clears up a lot of the misconceptions we have. There's a lot of talk about poets, some of which make me think "oh, those ridiculously artsy types" and some of which make me think "you know, she might be on to something." She writes well enough that even if you blatantly disagree, she's not forcing anything down your throat. I thought that was an interesting style of reading, because I learned just a few days ago that I try to be the same way. Susen will vouch for me. I can be a good person, really. =)
Now, onto this weekend. I crammed a ridiculous amount of reading and not enough paperwriting into the last 24 hours and I'm -almost- caught up enough to comfortably go home right after class Friday. I'll still need to do some writing while I'm back, and I don't have a clue when that'll fit in, but I'm not going to spend time worrying about it now when I need to be using this time for my CS homework and not something pointless like say, blogging. =) But I'm in the mood to go on and on [maybe because of that book] and so I shall because people seem to like it when I do that when it's been a while since I've done that.
Tentative schedule!
Friday: Get home at like, 8 or 9. Bonfire with the parentals, whom I promised to spend more than an hour with this weekend. [I'm a horrible person, I don't care.] Possibly some neighbors coming over, possibly some friends, hopefully Melissa. Target sleep time: 3 a.m.
Saturday: Visit grandma. Visit Burnstad's. Hit up Goodwill [because the Goodwill here is terrible. Go Bowling with Cody and Martin. Visit Lauren. Visit Cassie. Stop at the Dodge's and see the new addition (a no-doubt cute baby girl named Sarah) and get a bunch of CDs from Brandon. Maybe work on my FP paper? Go to a play with Melissa [the result of Merril sneakily asking if she was doing anything Saturday] and then hanging out with Melissa and possibly staying at Martin's or something. Target sleep time: 5 a.m.? >.>;
Saturday's going to kill me, I think, so nothing's on the agenda for Sunday. =)
So, if you're still reading, you're either someone that cares about me or someone who's really bored. In either case, thanks for sitting through this muck. I'll never tell you to your face how awesome you are. =)

Yeah, I didn't think you'd ever tell me to my face how awesome I am, but that's okay, because I know already. :-D
Anyway, hope you have a good weekend. And if you need fuel for your bonfire, let me know - I may have an algebra book lying around that you can have...
